A community brought together
At Bearsprings we know how important it is to care for our local community; just as much as we care for our friends, families and the local environment. This space is our way of bringing together community projects and fun family days out for both parents and fellow child care practitioners.
There is much to do and see in Merton throughout the year, whether you are staycationing or just looking for a weekend family day out; there is something for everyone!
Please contact us via the contact form if you wish to be featured on our website and are in Merton.
“Underground, overground, wombling free
The wombles of Wimbledon Common are we
Making good use of the things that we find
Things that the everyday folks leave behind…”
Speaking of caring for the local environment, the Bearsprings team have spotted a womble! Don’t forget to look after the environment on your wonderful visits around Merton; please do take your litter home with you or use a bin. Remember to leave green spaces the way you would wish to find them.
Feel free to visit Wimbledon common and see if you can spot a womble too, or take a walk along one of the hiking trails. Wombles are shy so you may not notice them on your first visit. Why not bring a book with you and read aloud to them on the common? We suggest one of the ‘Wombles’ books by Elisabeth Beresford.

Why not organise a street party during the spring or summer months? Several of these take place in Merton already.
Please be aware that you will need permission from the council if you wish to close road access for vehicles on your street for the day.
